We describe you the easiest way through the Lammeröfen
for you first-time-trip (a water level of 145 - 155 cm is
perfect). You can paddle other routes as well, because there
better routes for playing and getting washed.
The drop at the entrance - right, and I mean really right;
the rapid at the beginning - paddle to middle/left side of
the river and stay there until you reach the flat water in
the rocky dome. Just enjoy the scenic outlook there and paddle
orward; the drop at the end of the dome - stay on the right
side of the wet stone; The cataract - start in the middle
of the river and when you reach the turn, paddle to the right
side (the stopper at the end is no problem); Elefantenzähne
(elephant's teeth)- paddle on the right side of the big rock
(the one in the middle of the river), because if you paddle
on the left side then you can get stuck; small drop - paddle
through it; the small S - paddle on the left side directly
through the small stopper; the S - stay left to prevent the
small stopper. Then surf on the bigger stopper to the right
side and then back to the left (the current will do this for
you ...). The Hole - stay left and paddle on (or enjoy a nice
squirt); The final drop - paddle on and fly in the middle
(boofing is OK). The exit - avoid the rocks on the left side....
That's it !!! You did your first Lammeröfen-trip, now
come on and paddle it again.
- downriver of the Lammeröfen I-II
-
- Difficulty:
- depends on the water level and the section of the river - WW
I - IV/IV+
- Water Level:
-
- Best Time:
- High water during the snow melt and after heavy rainfalls. But
you can paddle the Lammer anytime.
- Rodeo Holes and Waves:
- Voglauer Klamm, Aubachwalze, Lammeröfen ...
- Special Dangers:
- When there is high water, don't play as hard as normal in the
Lammeröfen, but we checked every part of the canyon in- and
outside of our boats ... but watch out for logs. If there is low
water then be warned that the catarakt is shallow and rocky (there
are some victims...)
