Our first roadtrip in the MoMo²

After the pain of finding a car Babsi and I finally found our MoMo² - a Toyota Hiace! During the last week we had the chance to go on our first roadtrip. We met Riki, Bernhard & Maxl in eastern tyrol for some whitewaterkayaking on the Drau & Isel and afterwards we hiked to the Karlsbader Hütte and I made a municycle descend.

Then we moved on to the Soca valley where I finally got a good boat again: the Riot Flair 57 (I never liked the Project52 - to unprecise/roundish for my liking). After some paddling & a trip to the bikepark on the Kanin we had to return home ...

As always we shot some photos ...

Trail surfing on the flowy, giga trails of the Vinschgau

Thanks to an article in a bike magazin Babsi and I ended for a week of biking in Tarsch/Vinschgau/Southern Tyrol. We stayed at the lovely Pension Sachsalber
and thanks to Roman and his free GPS we enjoyed 6 perfect tours - thanks again!

The region around Tarsch itself is just a singletrail paradise with flow on every trail - when you are there just head for the Tarscher Alm and the combination of Path 9/4b/4 or ride up to the Freiberger Alm and continue to the Marzoner Alm. From the follow the trails Nr. 19 & 21. And of course don't forget the uphill to St. Martin and the descent from the Platzair and the Annaberger Böden ...

Allright, enough blabla, here are the photos...

4course menu at the Lago di Garda

During the last four days we enjoyed this lovely 4course (bike) menu at the Lago di Garda:

1) The awesome Pianauratrails
2) The tough Mt.Baldo > Mt. Altissimo tour with the endless downhill
3) The flowy Piazzoletrails (the right one) + Riva-Bastione run + Mt. Brione (just Michi)
4) The fantastic 601

As always, I got some photos for you ...

Logrides and more

I always loved balancing with my municycle and my mountainbike. But thanks to Kyril and Emma (two storms with heavy that causes huge damage) there are now plenty of logrides on our localspot. It's always important to check if the logs are stable and then go for it - you never know when they are gone...

Another thing: never stop looking and you will find stuff like the concrete drop or the concrete balance line at the beginning of the Glasenbachklamm.

Just check out some of the videostills

Juggling in vienna at the "1. Wiener Jonglierhimmel"

7 girls and their driver Werner headed for a long weekend trip to the 1st juggling convention in vienna. We enjoyed the inspiring workshops (contact juggling, ballon modelling, capoeira, 3ball juggling, ..), plenty of free juggling action (especially with our diabolo - thx Edi) and some sightseeing in vienna.
Additionally we bought some new stuff (diabolos, lunastix, clubs, ...) and watched the GalaShow & the OpenStage (with the unbelievable fast YoYo action)

Ok, enough of my writing - enjoy the photos.

After 9 awesome years and 350.000km it was finally time to say good bye to our MoMo (= Moser Mobil > our Toyota Hiace). During the time together we had so many brilliant trips and MoMo really was like a friend to me. Here is a small selection of some photos.

Family Fun in Costa Rica

2007 proved to be the most challenging year for Manfred and myself so far. Having two kids under two has given us a new found respect for each other. In the toughest of times we always found ways to deal with the kids and not to mention each other ;-) There is much love and happiness in our family amongst the chaos and sleep deprevation as you can see from the photos.

After a long silence at our site (due to technical problems with the gallery) let me introduce you to >> my new Canyon Torque 8.0!!!

I had plenty perfect rides at the Gaisberg, the superb bikepark in Wagrain/Austria - and on some of the Gardasee-trails ... especially I was happy to go for a testride on the 601 (hey, it was pure fun).

OK, time for some photos ...

Back on the internet and in the Java world

Wow. After a month away from radio, tv, internet and other distractions in Costa Rica, we are back at home in cold and wet Victoria.
I had a few thousand blog posts in my google reader to catch up on and a well over a thousand emails, not to mention mundane stuff like washing clothes. All that is under control again. Now I just gotta take care of the photos from the trip and our non-functioning gallery on the site. Anyway. It was fun to listen to a couple of JavaPosse, GoogleDeveloper and lugradio podcast episodes in a row. Some really cool things like the release of NetBeans 6, SoyLatte and JBoss Seam 2.0 happened, while I was offline so there are definitely things to catch up to. Good thing we have a hackday coming up at work this Friday. I also have to embark on organising some more upcoming VIJUG events... it never gets boring for me.

Man - I'm stoked! Today Manfred and I drove to Duncan/Mt. Tzouhalem for another mountain biking fun. After the ascent we found our first obstacles but then near the top it happend. There is a perfect obstacle with a drop around chest height and thanks to Manfreds Stinky I dared to drop it on the 3rd attempt. After that I was keen to do more drops and we found some more as you can see on the photos and tomorrow I go to Vancouver on the Northshore for another bike and drop session ... ride on!

Lago di Garda - or how to decrease car-riding time ...

Originally Pat, Toni and I wanted to ride the trails of Les2Alpes for 4 days but due to a delay we changed our plan and stayed at the Lago di Garda. After a short warm-up at the Monte Brione we were challenged by the endless turns of the Monte Stino and the steep'n'gravel descend of the Sentiro 112 - Dalco ... After these 3 tours we opted for a relaxed shuttle day in Meran before we had to head back home ...
Of course there a some photos and videostills for you made by Toni and me.

Testride for the Salzkammergut Trophy

The Salzkammergut Trophy is a really famous bike marathon, but this year it's also possible to participate on one wheel. Yesterday Babsi and I drove to Bad Goisern for a testride. The tour is 24,8km long and has 634m attitude ... sadly only the first 300m uphill were rideable (up to Rehkogl) - then the road turned into a very steep gravel road. So I had to push my municycle until I reached the rideable part at the Kriesmoosalm. Afterwards a short, steep section needs some walking again but then we reached the highest point on the tour and the downhill began - most parts are forestroads but the landscape is just amazing. All together it's a nice tour and the maximum time of 3.5hours is allright for muncyclists. It took us around 3,5h but we had a lot of photostops - a time under 3h is definitly no problem ...
Hope to see you on the 14th of July - I will be there ;)For some photos of the tour follow me ... and for some facts for other municyclers who want to participate follow this link

Considering that I should really jump to bed and get a shut eye, but there are just too many things going through my head.
